We have been doing quite a lot of Internet research recently, both on behalf of clients and as a part of our own marketing (shock horror). Much of this work has been centred on finding particular types of websites within a particular area. This isn’t as easy as it sounds but with some advanced Google queries its amazing what you can find out.

Finding Forums

Finding Blogs

keyword + “Blog powered by TypePad” OR “powered by Wordpress”
keyword + “view comments”
intitle:”blog” + keyword
keyword “become a contributor” OR “contribute to this site”

Finding Directories

keyword * directory
www directories or www AND directories + keyword
