School of Computer Science showcases new talent
On Friday 27th April I was pleased to be invited to Lincoln University's School of Computer Science for their Undergraduate showcase. This was an opportunity for final year students to showcase their projects to both other students and representatives from local technology companies
The event was opened by Dr David Cobham and included a number of interactive demos showcasing projects including websites, a gesture-controlled robot, retinal analysis, map analysis for navigation, a website to encourage healthy eating and project that analysed cheating in games
Although this showcase was optional, and took place at the busy end of the year, I was impressed to see a large number of students supporting the event. The students gain important presentation skills and get a chance to showcase their work to potential employers. Thanks go to everyone involved and I'm pleased to report that the school is planning to make this showcase an annual event
More information about the School of Computer Science's Showcase event is available on their blog
